Director/DoP Sean Meehan and Producer Samantha McGarry founded Soma Films in Sydney in 2005. They have built a reputation for shooting emotional, comedic, and visually driven work for a roster of major global brands: Tourism Australia, Expedia, Emirates, Volkswagen, Ikea, McDonald's, Toyota, Samsung, Amazon, Vodafone, and Subaru, earning awards at every major show. Soma's work spans automotive, travel, tech, food, fashion, PSA, in-camera practical effects, digital VFX, and the reliably unpredictable territory of shooting with kids and animals (usually at the same time).

Internationally, Sean is represented by several leading commercial production companies and by Anonymous Content for long-form work, with several feature and television projects currently in development.

Soma's short film Lost Face, from the Jack London story (adapted, shot and directed by Sean and produced by Sam) was filmed in the Canadian Rockies outside Calgary. It has screened at nearly 200 festivals and won 57 awards. It was shortlisted for an Oscar in the Best Live Action Short category.
